Bonsai Academy in Puerto Rico #3

The full day workshop.

Every workshop begins with an extensive tree inspiration (critique) of the trees in the room. I make sure everybody understands the quality and potential of the material. Then I show one or several options. Since thy more or less only have broadleaved trees i stress the point that it is not necessary for everyone to look like a pine tree designed in the sixties. There usually is the possibility to create a modern sculpture of something that resembles a tree an not a bonsai. Some bonsai resemble trees like a poodle resembles a wolf.
Then I let them work happily. I let them swim and catch them just before they drown.
